Public consultation on a third 400 kV breaker at the Pierola substation (Barcelona)

The Industry and Energy Functional Area of the Government Subdelegation in Barcelona has opened public consultation on the prior and construction authorisations for an addendum to Red Eléctrica's project to extend the 400 kV yard of the Pierola substation, in Els Hostalets de Pierola, with a third breaker. The original project, consulted in July 2026, installs a static series synchronous compensator (FACTS) on the Pierola-Vic line bay; the third breaker comes from the third amendment to specific aspects of the 2021-2026 energy planning. Comments are open for thirty working days from publication.
