New 400 kV Saguntum substation authorised, with five bays, in Sagunto (Valencia)

Spain's Directorate-General for Energy Policy and Mines has granted Red Eléctrica de España prior administrative authorisation and construction authorisation for the new Saguntum 400 kV substation, with five new bays, in the municipality of Sagunto. The resolution is dated 3 September 2026 and has now appeared in the BOE. For anyone looking for a connection point in northern Valencia province, this adds five new bays at a 400 kV transmission node; the BOE had already published the authorisation of the 400 kV Gaussa-Saguntum line on 16 September.
