BESS Tabernas II storage (19.8 MW) authorised to hybridise the Tabernas II solar plant

The Directorate-General for Energy Policy and Mines has granted Naturgy Renovables prior administrative authorisation and construction authorisation for the BESS Tabernas II battery storage module, 19.8 MW installed, and its evacuation infrastructure, to hybridise with the existing Tabernas II solar plant of 48.8 MW, in Tabernas (Almería). The resolution is dated 9 May 2025 and is published in the BOE now. With both authorisations in hand, the battery module can move to construction beside the operating plant.
