Cantabria asks the Government to unblock the 96.6 MW Escudo wind farm, halted for six months

Cantabria's president has written to Spain's prime minister asking him to get personally involved in unblocking the Escudo wind farm, 96.6 MW and 120 million euros of investment, promoted by Biocantaber with Ocyener, Iberdrola and Banco Santander. According to El Periodico de la Energia, works have been halted for six months with 21 of the 23 turbines already installed, against a planned entry into service of June 2026, and the 244 administrative appeals filed between 2021 and 2024 with the Ministerio para la Transicion Ecologica remain unresolved even though the court proceedings have been decided in the promoter's favour or withdrawn.
