Catalonia asks for the grid plan to be approved before the 29N election over connection points
The Catalan government has asked Madrid to approve Red Eléctrica's grid plan before the 29 November election, through the Congress standing committee, fearing the electoral calendar will delay the document. The regional minister for territory, housing and ecological transition argues it must secure the connection points needed by projects such as the AI gigafactory at Móra la Nova (Tarragona), desalination plants and Media City, and must provide new substations and lines for industrial estates. The central government still has bilateral meetings pending with the regions. Until the plan is approved, the nodes and reinforcements Catalonia is asking for do not appear on the capacity map.
