Unfavourable environmental statement for the Son Careló solar plant (1.98 MW), Alcúdia

The Balearic urban harmonisation and environmental assessment directorate has reported unfavourably on the prior administrative authorisation, the public-utility declaration and the environmental impact assessment of the Son Careló solar plant, 1.98 MW installed and 2.09 MWp, promoted by Alcanada Energy on plot 282 of polygon 3 in Alcúdia; the resolution also calls it "Cas Careló". It places the site in a low solar-suitability zone of the Balearic energy sector plan and within the 500 m band around areas of environmental relevance, and bases the refusal on loss of habitat and carbon sink and on biodiversity and landscape effects. Alcúdia town council had already reported against it.
