Favourable environmental statement for the power expansion of the Zona Franca data centre in Barcelona

Catalonia's environmental board has issued a favourable environmental impact statement for the expansion of the energy infrastructure of the Parc Logístic de la Zona Franca data centre in Barcelona, promoted by Parc Logístic de la Zona Franca. The generator sets are 11 kV MTU units and the resulting total electrical power will be 108.251 MW, above the 50 MW combustion threshold that triggers assessment; they run only if the grid supply is interrupted, with a minimum 48-hour autonomy. The building has 24,291 square metres of floor space.
