The submarine cable linking Ceuta to mainland Spain nears commercial operation

The two-circuit 132 kV AC link will integrate the Ceuta system with the peninsular one for the first time; as of 31 August 2026, 99.9% of the electricity generated in the city came from diesel engines and renewable generation was zero.
