MITECO consults on how to award up to 11 GW of grid access at just-transition nodes

Spain's ecological transition ministry, through the Just Transition Institute, has opened two preliminary public consultations on awarding up to 11 GW of reserved grid access capacity at just-transition nodes, as reported by El Periódico de la Energía and pv magazine España. For fifteen nodes —among them Compostilla, Garoña, Robla, Lada, Litoral, Montearenas, Pinar del Rey, Puentes García Rodríguez, Puertollano and Soto de Ribera— a simple-concurrence route allocating by order of application is proposed; for Guardo 220 kV and Velilla 400 kV, a competitive tender, where the expression-of-interest exercise mainly found pumped hydro. Both consultations close on 8 October.
