Endesa repowers the Coriscada wind farm: 40 turbines replaced by four, Mañón and Ortigueira

Endesa has started repowering the Coriscada wind farm, in Mañón and Ortigueira (A Coruña): the 40 turbines running since 1998, totalling 24 MW, come down and are replaced by four 7 MW machines, 28 MW installed. Evacuation stays at 24 MW and expected annual output rises from 47 to 83.9 GWh. The investment is 36.3 million euros and the work will finish during 2027. It is the pattern that matters to any developer holding an ageing wind farm: more energy over the same connection point, without asking for extra capacity.
