Public consultation on adding batteries to the Hinojosa Solar PV plant (Badajoz)

Extremadura's industry and energy directorate has opened public consultation on amending the prior authorisation of the Hinojosa Solar PV plant, in Hinojosa del Valle (Badajoz), to add the Hinojosa Bess storage module. The notice describes fourteen battery containers of 2,500 kW each — 35,000 kW in cells — with 71.4 MWh of capacity and 4.25 hours of discharge, on plot 3 of polygon 3, wired into the plant's seven existing inverters and transformers; the plant has held an operating authorisation since March 2021. The budget is EUR 6.95 million (file GE-M/26/18) and submissions run for 30 working days from the day after publication.
