Public consultation opens on the 4.7 MW BESS Tucana VIII storage plant, Tenerife

The Canary Islands' Directorate-General for Energy has opened public consultation on the administrative authorisation sought for the «BESS Tucana VIII Tacoronte» battery storage system, 4.7 MW and 20.7 MWh (four hours), promoted by Tucana Batteries VIII, S.L. Despite the project name, the municipality named in the notice is San Cristobal de La Laguna. Evacuation runs through an 800 m underground 20 kV line to the Geneto substation, and the project is subject to simplified environmental impact assessment. Comments are open for thirty days from the day after publication.
