The Basque grid is to gain 6,000 MW in five years under the 2030 network plan

The Basque minister for Industry, Energy Transition and Sustainability has announced that the region's electricity network will gain 6,000 MW over the next five years, 50% more than today, under the 2030 transmission network plan that the central government expects to approve definitively before year end; last year's draft set out 40% for the Basque Country. The plan foresees work on almost every existing substation, more than twenty interventions, plus ten new ones, with 2,300 MW of the 6,000 coming from the transmission grid. For a developer, it redraws where access capacity will be in the Basque Country.
