Spain's summer renewable curtailment approaches 3,500 GWh

El Periódico de la Energía puts curtailed renewable output in Spain between June and August at around 3,500 GWh, mostly solar, equivalent to the consumption of some four million households over those three months. It is the backdrop to any grid-node decision: where curtailment concentrates, available evacuation capacity yields less than the contracted figure suggests. It also explains the push towards battery hybridisation and flexible access.
