Merlin expects to start work on the 288 MW Navalmoral data centre before year end

Merlin Properties expects to start work before year end on the data centre it is planning on plot I-64 of the Expacio Navalmoral industrial park, in Navalmoral de la Mata, as soon as the regional environmental authorisation and the municipal works licence arrive, which it expects in October and November. The project, declared of regional interest (PREMIA), is two buildings on 206,753 m2 with a total power demand of 288 MW, 1.5 billion euros of investment and a two-year build, with a second phase contemplated. The regional department says it is waiting on reports from other bodies, among them the Guadiana river basin authority.
