Murillo el Cuende calls a local referendum on a biomethane plant

The mayor of Murillo el Cuende has called a local referendum, authorised by the national government under Navarre's Ley Foral 27/2002, on siting a biomethane plant in the municipality. The question asks residents whether they would find such a plant of interest, provided it complies with urban planning and holds the relevant environmental permits. The vote will be held on 18 October 2026, with an information campaign running from 5 to 16 October.
