Naturgy and BlueNewables start testing their 1 MW floating PV demonstrator in the Port of Valencia

The Port of Valencia now has both 500 kW floating photovoltaic platforms in place, the PV-bos «Paiporta» and «Catarroja» built at the San Enrique shipyard in Vigo, making up the 1 MW demonstrator developed by BlueNewables with Naturgy's backing, and the project moves into testing and monitoring. The installation sits within RENMARINAS VALENCIAPORT, an initiative funded by Spain's IDAE with EU NextGeneration funds, under which the Port Authority is building a test platform to connect marine renewable generation demonstrators and feed them into the grid. Naturgy and BlueNewables will track performance data, technical incidents and operating costs for two years.
