Spain-Andorra treaty for a 220 kV electricity interconnection published

Spain's state gazette has published, among its general provisions, the treaty between the Kingdom of Spain and the Principality of Andorra for a 220 kV electricity interconnection, signed in Belém on 18 November 2025. The treaty is the bilateral framework enabling construction and operation of the link between the two electricity systems. A new interconnection changes flows at the Pyrenean end of the transmission grid and, with them, the evacuation capacity available in that area.
