Red Eléctrica curtails 943 MW of industrial demand: seventh SRAD activation since July

Red Eléctrica activated its active demand response service (SRAD) on Monday at 21:16, asking 943 MW of industrial demand to shut down for close to two hours as wind output ran far below the volume cleared in the market: against almost 9 GW cleared for that hour, actual wind fell to 3.8 GW. It is the seventh activation since 15 July, where 2025 saw none. Combined-cycle plants cut a further 1,000 MW. Sources at the operator say supply was never at risk.
