Red Eléctrica publishes its demand grid-access map: 18.52 GW granted

Red Eléctrica has published a map of the status of demand access and connection permit applications on the transmission grid, with capacity already granted and capacity in process, broken down into seven consumption categories and by location. Of the 18.52 GW granted, 11.05 GW belongs to installations not yet in service; data centres account for 6,329 MW, 34.2% of the total and none in service, followed by industrial supply at 5,838 MW. The publication also carries the updated demand access capacities following the CNMC resolution of 1 December 2025. It does not cover applications to the distribution networks.
