No full EIA required for the 132 kV Artxanda-Mazarredo line repowering

The Basque environmental administration has issued the environmental impact report on the repowering of the 132 kV double-circuit Artxanda-Mazarredo line, between towers 30002 and 30006, promoted by i-DE. The project renews 795 metres of overhead conductor spread across Sondika and Bilbao and unifies the electrical capacity of the overhead stretch. The resolution concludes that no full environmental impact assessment is required provided the protective measures it sets out are applied: a repowering raises the capacity of an existing 132 kV axis without opening a new route.
