pv magazine España has compiled the renewable projects published in the BOE during July: 28 files totalling 779 MW of solar PV and 991 MW of battery storage. The figures give a measure of the pace at which state-level permitting is taking storage on alongside solar generation. The project-by-project breakdown is in the linked article.
The Boletín Oficial de Cantabria has published the environmental impact report for file EIA-SIMP.026.2025, on the energy storage plant at Mataporquera, in Valdeolea. According to El Periódico de la Energía the report is favourable: the project, promoted by Bellwood Corporate Services with six battery containers and 10.12 MW, will not have to undergo full environmental assessment provided it meets the additional measures and conditions set out in the report. A useful reference for how simplified environmental screening of storage is being resolved in Cantabria.
The Directorate-General for Energy Policy and Mines has refused Maracaibo Solar, S.L.'s application for prior administrative authorisation of the 125 MW «Satrebares» wind farm and its 220 kV evacuation infrastructure, and has closed file SGIISE/PEol-910. The refusal rests on the unfavourable environmental impact statement of 31 March 2026. The project had obtained transmission grid access at Red Eléctrica's Abegondo 220 kV substation, which matters to anyone tracking how that node is taken up.
The Principality of Asturias regional industry department has authorised two battery storage plants in the parish of San Esteban de las Cruces, in the municipality of Oviedo, promoted by Inversiones en Transición Energética. According to El Periódico de la Energía they total 32.52 MWh across 16 lithium-ion containers, with power capped at 7.89 MW and export to the distribution network, and cleared simplified environmental assessment despite objections from residents and environmental groups over fire risk, noise and the concentration of projects nearby.
The Valladolid territorial industry service has published its resolution of 27 July 2026 on the prior administrative authorisation of the «FV Vislandi Solar» photovoltaic installation, in the municipalities of Zaratán and Valladolid (file FV-2721; ATCE-209). This is the step that settles the prior-authorisation stage of the file; the outcome is set out in the text published in the BOCyL.
The Valladolid territorial industry service has opened public consultation on the application for prior administrative authorisation of the modification to hybridise the «PFV Tordesillas 2022» solar plant with the «BESS PFV Tordesillas 2022» battery installation, in the municipality of Tordesillas (file FV-2580-ALM ATCE-100). This is the stage at which comments can be filed, and one more sign of how storage hybridisation is advancing on solar files in Valladolid.
The Granada territorial delegation has called the pre-occupation proceedings for the land and rights affected by the «Parque Fotovoltaico Jesús», a 10 MW plant and its evacuation infrastructure, in the municipality of Padul, promoted by Alcance Fotovoltaico, S.L. (file E-4674). The public-utility declaration of 9 February 2026 carries urgent occupation of the affected plots. It is the second file from the same promoter in Padul to reach this stage this week.
The Granada territorial delegation has called the pre-occupation proceedings for the land and rights affected by the «Planta Fotovoltaica Santa María, Línea de Evacuación y Subestación Eléctrica» in the municipality of Padul, promoted by Alcance Fotovoltaico, S.L. (file E-4664). The project was declared of public utility by a resolution of 9 February 2026, a declaration that carries urgent occupation of the affected plots. This is the stage at which an evacuation route lands on specific parcels.
The Subdelegación del Gobierno in Palencia has opened public consultation on the environmental impact statement and the prior and construction authorisations for PFVH Valdepero, a 24.9 MW solar plant promoted by Naturgy Renovables. It is to be hybridised with the existing PE Valdepero wind farm (30 MW), with which it shares a grid access point, and includes 20 kV underground lines and an extension of the Parque Eólico Valdepero 220/20 kV substation. Comments are due within thirty working days from the day after publication; the date shown is the earliest possible close, so confirm it with the authority.

On 25 August the Council of Ministers cleared urgent processing of a draft royal decree tying the growth of data centres to energy sustainability, water efficiency and digital sovereignty criteria. According to pv magazine España it will require proof that at least 80% of electricity consumed is renewable, on an additionality basis — each new MW of demand matched by a new MW of renewable generation commissioned in the preceding 18 months — and on an hourly matching basis. Additionality can be met through self-consumption or long-term PPAs, which opens contractable demand for new capacity.
The Canary Islands Directorate-General for Energy has opened public consultation on the administrative authorisation application for the «Tacoronte I» battery storage system, promoted by Return Energy Storage Solutions, S.L., in the municipality of Tacoronte. It is a stand-alone installation of 10.4 MW and 42.864 MWh — six hours of autonomy — with a 20 kV underground line to the Tacoronte substation, subject to simplified environmental assessment. The notice opens a thirty (30) day period from the day after publication to examine the project and file comments.
